More importantly, it’s really comfy
A few weeks ago, one of my classes ended at 6:15 and I had to go to a flag football game at 7. To solve this problem, I wore a track suit to class since I wouldn’t have time to go home and change, and I thought nobody at school was going to care.
Boy, was I wrong.
People were looking at me like I had grown a second forehead or something. I’m pretty sure that a couple of people did a double-take when they saw me. Really? A guy can’t wear a track suit to school? Why not? People wear shorts to school in the summer, which is OK, but it’s somehow unacceptable for someone to wear a track suit?
I don’t like being told what to do, especially when it comes to societal norms that don’t make sense. I’m the guy that put this Mario Lemieux quote as part of my high school graduating yearbook entry: “If you scream at me to skate faster, I’ll skate slower.”
So when I got the impression that it just wasn’t acceptable to wear a track suit at school, there was only one solution:
Track Suit Tuesday.
