Tony Kornheiser calls out Matt Lauer

If you didn’t know, Matt Lauer from The Today Show hurt himself while cycling and missed a couple of shows. Everybody sent in their best wishes for Matt, except for Tony Kornheiser from Pardon the Interruption who said on PTI that he didn’t believe the story, and that Lauer made it up.

So Kornheiser went on The Today Show to confront Lauer, leading to two and a half minutes of pure comedic gold.

The Office meets The Recession

Every morning, I turn the TV on and listen to CNBC as I’m getting ready to leave. With the recession and the effect of the subprime mortgage debacle hitting the economy, one of the main topics the last few months is whether the government should let certain corporations go bankrupt, or whether these companies are “too big to fail”. This saying has essentially become a catchphrase when commentators debate the merits of whether the government should bail out various financial institutions.

And everytime I hear someone say, “It’s too big to fail”, I think one thing.

That’s what she said.
