“Chan Goes to the Metro” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it
You ever have the urge to eat something specific, where you have to have it (like Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle)? This happens to me all the time. After my first final exam last Monday, someone mentioned as we were eating lunch that there was a Chinese bakery next door. The thought of Chinese egg tarts became ingrained in my brain, and I needed to have them. Naturally, after lunch, we discovered that the Chinese bakery was closed on Mondays. One of my friends said I looked “devastated”. After my exam on Tuesday, guess where I was? That’s right - enjoying my purchase of two egg tarts.
On Sunday, I had the sudden urge to have some of the BBQ ribs from the Metro grocery store near my place. I don’t know why since I’ve only had them once (though they were pretty good), but I did. So I went to the Metro across the street…only to find out that they were out. Well, I was pretty distraught, and wandered the grocery store trying to figure out what would satisfy my tastebuds. Would eating some random meat be good enough? Chicken? Steak?
